What are the school hours? Preschool through grade 8 for the 2024/2025 school year: 7:50 a.m.– 3:00 p.m.
What are the demographics at Central Catholic? Central Catholic serves a diverse population of students of different faiths, race, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Does my child have to be Catholic to attend Central Catholic School? We welcome students of all faiths. Non-Catholic families who enroll their children in our school appreciate the Catholic faith, values, and prayer taught at the school. They value the atmosphere it provides for their children and are impressed in how it strengthens them spiritually.
Does Central Catholic offer after school care? Yes, for the 2024/2025 school year, we offer in-house after school care from 3:10 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, when school is in session.
Can I visit or volunteer in my child’s classroom? We welcome and encourage parental involvement. If you wish to volunteer, please contact the principal. When you arrive at Central Catholic School to visit or volunteer, please sign in at the school office. We will issue you a visitor or volunteer badge and provide any special instructions. Your participation sets a wonderful example for our students. We appreciate your interest and involvement.
What is the dress code? The identity of Central Catholic children as students in a Catholic school is evident in the uniform. Although outward appearances are not a judge of character, taking care to groom and dress appropriately projects a sense of discipline, unity, pride and respect. Our uniform guidelines and dress guidelines are explained in our handbook. Uniforms and spiritwear can be purchased at the school.
What books or supplies does my child need? We provide all textbooks to our students. All students are responsible for their own school supplies, and a supply list is available at the start of the school year.
Is there a fee to register? The registration fee for K-8 students is $100 per student.
How much is tuition? Please visit our Tuition page for up-to-date tuition rates. The average tuition fee after Choice Scholarships is $100-$200 a month.
What other fees are required in addition to tuition? There is a $75 textbook/technology annual fee.
Do you provide financial aid? Central Catholic provides aid and assistance for multiple scholarship programs. The State of Indiana offers the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program and the SGO scholarship program to help eligible Hoosier families choose and afford the most appropriate education for their child(ren).
Does Central Catholic have a school nurse? Central Catholic has a certified nurse through our Ascension partnership.
What if my child is absent or tardy? If an absence is unavoidable, please call our school office as soon as possible. In order to provide a more orderly educational environment and safeguard instructional minutes, each student must arrive to school on time. Students who are tardy excessively frequently fall behind in academic achievement. Not only does tardiness jeopardize the individual's own learning, it interrupts the learning of others and the climate of the classroom.
What kind of physical education and extra-curricular sports do you provide? All grades attend at least one physical education class per week with an instructor, focusing on fitness and sportsmanship. Central Catholic offers extra-curricular sports as it participates in the Catholic Youth Organization. Please visit our Athletics page for more information.
What technology is available in the classroom? Classrooms are equipped with smart boards and all students K-8 have 1:1 chrome books or tablets. All grade levels use Google classroom.
Does Central Catholic have a library? Yes and we have a partnership with the Indianapolis Public Library.
Does Central Catholic have a cafeteria? Yes! Central Catholic offers healthy meals every school day. All students regardless of income level can receive breakfast, lunch and dinner at no cost.
What is Mother Theodore Catholic Academies? The Mother Theodore Catholic Academies is a consortium of three schools including Central Catholic, Saint Philip Neri, and Central Catholic.
How can I stay informed about my child's studies and school events?
